I have an identical twin brother and our birthday is coming up. I have always given my brother my hand-me-down old computers and the last one I gave him was a PowerPC Mac Mini when I bought an Intel Mini.

Financially I am doing a lot better than he is and for our birthday I'd like to give him something nice.

He is pretty much a computer neophyte. He uses it to web browse, check email and download music. That's about it. If I give him an iPad he could keep using the PowerPC Mini to download and purchase music and synch everything to the iPad. Or I could buy him a laptop. A MacBook Pro 13" or a MacBook.

My choices are a MacBook Pro 13", MacBook 13" or an iPad. What do you guys recommend? If I go with a laptop, with the GPU update on the MacBook is that a better buy than getting him a MacBook Pro 13"?

    The iPad.

It's a fantastic gift, he can use the Mini to sync it, it's just plain outstanding.

    Get yourself one too.

    Only problem? Finding one.

Order one (or two) now and expect a week or two delay.

    Have fun,
    Keri

I think you should get them an iPad. They'll love it.
