I've just noticed a 'Send Gift' option at the bottom of the App Store on my iPhone 5.

I've never noticed this before - has it always been there?!?!?!

Strangely - I can't find the same option on my iPad running the same iOS ??!

I read that Gifting was removed when iOS 6 came out.

However, on my iPhone 4S w/ 6.0.1, I can send Gifts. I don't know when that was put back in (or if it was ever really gone).

Apple's site still says you cannot send Gifts with iOS 6!

They also added gifting to the iTunes Store. This feature has been absent since the first iPhone OS. You can now gift albums, movies. It seems you still cannot gift individual songs.

Glad this feature is finally back.

If I already paid for an app before, and I now want to gift the same app to a friend, do I still need to pay for it?
