I've done the resistor removal. This is a very small resistor and it can be hard to do it right if you haven't dealt with this kind of thing before.
Like the above poster said, it barely makes any difference. Mostly, it's just a mental thing that might nag at you, but I'd recommend not stressing over it. I only did it because I am very experienced and have access to the right equipment. (And, by the way, I desoldered it.)
Just let it go and be happy.
