...any way to show at 1/2 size? On vB we had the [tIMG] tag, but no more. Here's what I'm talking about:

Gigantic Retina Screenshot.png

Very annoying to have to scroll past these, especially since they often look like this in my posts. If there's a solution I've overlooked (that doesn't involve re-uploading or a tiny low-resolution thumbnail), or one that could be added, that'd be great.

Test two: [IMG=1024x768]https://forums.macrumors.com/attachments/retina-screenshot-in-post-png.563669/[/IMG] … I have a vague memory of something like that markup, but maybe not at MacRumors …

Test three, inspired by https://xenforo.com/community/threads/29479/ but still, I'm flailing in the dark:

<xen:avatar URL='https://forums.macrumors.com/attachments/retina-screenshot-in-post-png.563669/" size="m" img="true" />

not to scale

@redheeler I have a hunch that what we'd like will be not easily achievable without an add-on to XenForo. (Media Thumbnail Dimensions | XenForo Community … maybe?)

I guess that you could do something local with CSS and/or JavaScript to force a smaller default size for presentation of images within posts. Small by default and then click (or click and click) to view larger if required.

Not specific to XenForo or an Apple definition of Retina, in an answer under Checkbox to include <img> HTML, or automatically resize a retina display screenshot - Meta Stack Exchange there's a comment about the variety of pixel densities on the market.

Side note: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/posts/21309494 from the first day of the open test phase reminds me that things have improved significantly :)

@grahamperrin thanks, that's what I thought. I miss the old [timg] tag, which would help solve this problem.

To @arn and admins, being able to set a maximum display size for images (attached or otherwise) would be great. Or at least bring back [timg].
