Today I bought a Gigaware MDP to HDMI adapter for my mid-2010 MacBook Pro 13" to connect to my Sony Bravia 42" HDTV. I've tried three different HDMI cables with no luck. The TV says "No signal" and my MacBook doesn't flash blue. How do I get it to work?

Have you tried manually going to Display under System Preferences and switching output to Bravia?

Please post a screenshot of what the "Displays" prefpane looks like for you.

And are you sure you have selected the correct input on your TV? Is the cable good? Have you make sure the adapter isn't the culprit?

I'm sure, I've tried two TVs, and three cables. The adapter gets hot, so it should be working...

Here's a screenshot

I would suspect the HDMI to MDP adapter. These are pretty tricky on the Macbook Pros. Several threads discuss adapters that work and those that don't. Do you have a nearby store (Frys, Microcenter) where you can try a different brand of adapter?

I really need this up and running by tonight, please help. 🙁
Why does your job depend on this? MAybe your life is depending on this? Some robbers will shoot you if you do not get it working?? Jajajaja!! Want and need is not same thing. You fail it!!!!
