hey guys will gimp be enough for video production? thanks
Gimp doesn't do video, i would suggest imovie.
if your taking about photo editing, I would go with gimp becasue it's free compared to 800+ for PShop
Neither are for video editing. Photoshop and Gimp are both photo editors. You may want to look more at something like iMovie, Adobe Premier, or Final Cut, or if your looking for special effects Adobe After Effects.
If your talking photo editing Gimp or Photoshop would do. Or, my personal favorite is Pixelmator. Its cheap. $50 or so and its excellent. The only reason I still use photoshop is because it ties in with Maya and Unity.
i already have final cut studio. i do a bunch of picture slide shows. i will be using these NOT for editing.
Gimp has most the tools you would need. I mean Photoshop may have certain features, but most of them you probably don't need anyways.
Gimp is also free, so try it out and see if it does what you need to do.
