So then what do you call porn?

A person getting paid to have sex with a stranger. Only since it's in front of a video camera, it's somehow legal.

Go figure.

porn is different because the actors/actresses are paid to act, to make a movie. (which happen to feature a lot of sex.)

prostitution is soliciting money just for sex or sexual favors.

(subtle, isn't it?) :D

Scary.

Even taking into account of the original picture. I'm sure that she is a very nice young lady on the inside. For my taste that is what really counts. The beautiful ones ten to be high maintenance.

I've been having this debate with my co-workers at the office. I understand the point of "freedom of expression" with regards to movies, but it boils down to people (the actors) having sex for money. That it's being recorded doesn't change that.

Don't get me wrong, I think porn should remain legal. I just don't get how a country that allows pornography to legitimately exist somehow classifies prostitution as a crime. They are both the exact same thing, morally speaking.

That said, if the girl auctioning off her virginity sets up a tripod in her dorm room and sells the video on the web, she should be perfectly legal, right?

Never thought of it in this way. Sex for pay is sex for pay. If you think about it are not prostitutes 'acting"? i assume they pretend to enjoy what they are doing regardless who their partner is.

Interesting thoughts. Obviously, they're both big grey areas with a lot of overlap, but perhaps the distinction is that in porn, BOTH people are getting paid to participate, rather than one paying the other. I assume that's the legal distinction, anyway.

I don't know if that makes it better or worse, but it is one way to think of it.

And of course, you've probably got a handful of porn stars who are exhibitionists and might do it without getting paid, and plenty more people who see nothing romantic in a particular guy, and only sleep with him for his money, but it's called golddigging, not prostitution.

As for the auction at hand... hmm. Seems crass and tasteless (and I certainly can't picture anybody paying that kind of money for something so pointless and abstract, especially when it could be easily had for FAR less with a little effort), not to mention illegal in most locations, but who knows.

I do believe that filming porn is illegal in many areas because of this payment for sex issue. Just not selling or buying porn. It is the filming that is restricted.

that used to be the case... though it's still illegal in most states it is highly regulated (all actors must be tested every month). most porn (american) is still shot in Canada or Cali. unless your into German blondes. ;)

peace.

Does the winning bid come with...

...a medical examination? How do you *know* she's a virgin. And what's to stop any other person who needs money from doing the same thing?

Not for or against it, personally whatever this person wants to do, is her business.

Caveat emptor!!!
(My Latin spelling may be off, heck, my english spelling might be off as well).

Side note: i haven't even read the other two pages in this post yet, but it's frickin' funny!
