White will crack. Lol. :) And it will drive you insane because you can see it.

In my opinion black looks much nicer than the white, if you have your heart set on white then I think you should wait a few days or however long it takes for the white to come out and then buy it.

White doesn't show small scratches as much as the black, BUT.... if you do get scratches, they are prone to get dirt and debris in the cracks, which is much more noticeable on white than black.

because the color doesn't change the utility or usability of the phone in any way.

And I bet white is easier to leave marks on over time.

White is delayed for a reason, and it's a reason you don't want to hear, even after it's available.

On a serious note, look at pics of the white and black. They both have a black border around the entire screen, but you only see it on the white phone. That would irritate the **** outa me.

It's the same color as a certain fecal waste that drops out of a bird on crappy and nice cars alike. So if you happen to sit your phone on your car one day, how do you think that's going to look? Really bad man.

I had a black 3G with a white case and although it was black on the front, it still seemed too bright to me.

Don't get me wrong, I like white. But it looks fat compared to the black and my eyes hurt after looking at it too long.

Just do what I'm doing: wait for white, and when both are in store, you'll know. You'd hate yourself if you get black and end up regretting it.

Plan B, of course, is if Apple makes a statement to the effect of "no white iPhones 'til September", which does change things - I know I'm not going to wait that long.

I know this sounds odd, but I actually like the black outline of the screen. I'd be more upset over the seams on the steel band remaining black on the white phone, versus having white seams.

I've had a white 16gb 3G since July 2008 and I love it, but I don't love the white Iphone 4. More correctly, I don't love the white FRONT of the Iphone 4. So, black for me. It's not an "it's girly" thing for me, I just don't like it.

Color does affect usability. Percieved contrast from the human eye is affected by surrounding colors. That's why all TVs and home theater setups use black borders. The black iPhone screen will look better than white even though it is the same screen.

Because you're going to put your iPhone 4 in an Otterbox so it won't matter what color your phone is.

Everything looks better with a black border.....more contrast!

That was what sold me on the black one at first. The white looked distracting. Then I was in the "look at me" stage. Basically, EVERYONE that sees an all white iPhone will know I have the 'new' iPhone and therefore I'm super cool. I also love the white phone with black bumper combo... Then I realized how much of an attention whore I was being and opted for the black.

Honestly, the white one at least makes you feel like you have a new phone.

I am going to put a white back on mine when the parts become available, and leave the black front!~
