"giving away" a iphone 4 reservation?

I have two iPhone 4 reservations - one is for the wife.
She might decide to wait for a white one, if so, can I give away the reservation? I.e. A friend who wants one can use that slot in line?

I'm guessing they'll just give that phone to someone else in line, but maybe someone has more info on this.

I believe you have to be there as it's connected to your name and email address

Yes I confirmed the same.. if the reservation was made in YOUR name, then YOU must be present for the reservation to be honored. That's why I have an extra one because I wasn't sure if my wife would be able to go with me and get her schedule at work changed around to be able to join me. Apple are sticklers for store policy on this.
