This is likely not specific to Tahoe, but I am experiencing slow file copies between systems.

My M4 MacBook Air is getting almost 2Gbps download speed from the Internet (I have 5Gbps fiber.) The same is true for my Studio. But copying files takes forever.
Is anybody else seeing this? Any idea on how to improve it?

Without technical details about your network hardware and setup, it’s impossible to help. Reboot your router ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is on a three Eero Max 7 network. The router and one meshpoint are on a 10Gbps Ethernet backbone.
The Mac Studio is also on 10 Gbps Ethernet and sits in my office with the main router.
The M4 MacBook Air is in the office, connected to the main Max 7.

Network Speed Tester between the two machines actually reaches 96 MBps (750Mbps) with WiFi on the Studio disabled to force Ethernet. On WiFi only, I get a measly 26 Mbps between the two machines.

Testing Internet connectivity, I get 1 Gbps on the MacBook and 5 Gbps on the Studio over 10 Gbps Ethernet. I get 2Gbps meshpoint wireless to meshpoint as measured by Internet speed on an M4 Mini Pro connected to the remote meshpoint in another part of the house.

I don't think the issue is with the link connectivity or speed to the Eero Max 7. It's an issue of linking the Macs to each other. SMB likely makes it worse.

I should note that file transfer speed to my Synology NAS is as high as expected 2 Gbps / 246 MBps over ethernet. The NAS runs at 2.5 Gbps ethernet. WiFi from MacBook is up to 180 Mbps / 22 MB/s. Network speed tester uses 1GB files for this test.
