The fact that they went with this app extension thing makes me think that the phone is waiting on iOS9. I wouldn't be surprised if the watch SDK arrives in beta form along with iOS9 beta.

That's what I am hoping for ... because developers and consumers won't put up with the slowness of the extension route for very long.

Not sure I like Glances either. Rather than Glances, I wish they had a watch face where you can put a complication icon for all of your favorite apps and not just apple's preselected ones so you can tap on the icon to go right to any app if needed...sort of like radio station presets in your car.

I've only had the Watch for a week, so I haven't settled into a final configuration. Here's what's working for me so far.

I've removed glances for anything that's a complication on my Modular face: Weather (current temperature), World Clock (EST time), and Calendar. After all, they're one tap away, so why use a swipe as well?

I haven't ended the day at under 50% battery, so I've removed that glance. In the unlikely event that I ever needed to view it, I can always start to set it as a complication.

All my investments are in an index fund, and I'm not a day trader, so I don't need real time stock updates.

I have four glances at the moment: Now Playing, Transit, Citymapper, and Maps. Once I figure out whether I use Transit or Citymapper more, all remove the other one. Once Maps gets transit data in LA, I'll probably remove both Transit and Citymapper.

it's because of battery life.

This thread reminds me of a song. (War. What is it good for.....). Anyway I rarely use glances, but wish watch faces and complications were more customisable. There is quite a lot of space available, and I really like the modular face, but it would be nice to have more control of what is shown.

I loved glances at first, till I got fed up waiting for the app to refresh data. Glances supposed to be a 1 second affair, not 2-5 seconds.

Heck, even sometimes when I activated Siri by calling it, I got a blurry screen and... Nothing.
