In john lewis, buchanan St, in the technology section their is a 24" 2.4GHz last gen ex-display iMac, missing discs and box, for £485

For that price, ebay will sell you a dual 2.3GHZ G5, so this seems a good deal.

Seeing as it's in a store, I'll just go ahead and say that no, it isn't stolen.

OP, don't buy it. You need the disks, et. al. Just wait until you can get a new aluminum one.

    That's a great deal. :)

It isn't stolen, please do a bit of research before jumping to conclusions. John Lewis is a major UK retailer and authorised Apple reseller. They are just selling off an ex-display model.

You can get the discs off Apple for a small fee. It's a £700 saving over the current base model 24" so it's worth getting if you are on a budget.

    Seven hundred Pounds?

Never mind, OP, GET IT! :D $30 is a trifle to pay for the proper disks.

And remember that John Lewis give a two year warranty on all computers. That's where I bought my cheap previous-gen iMac from.

Nice find. I'm in the market for an iMac. If I saw this, I'd jump at it no hesitation.

If I was at home (in Perth) I'd be racing you for it!

And whoever it was that suggested it was nicked, you should know that in the UK impeaching the integrity of John Lewis probably ranks about the same as smearing poo all over the Lincoln memorial...
