I ve got a huge crack on it , due to my own stupidity , and now im trying to get a new one , but apple service centers in Moscow are telling me to wait 2-3 months . I find it ridiculous and therefore asking for help , where can I order glass for imac ? its only 1 week old . Thank you in advance

If its only 1 week old you can just give back your entire imac and ask your money back. There is a 14 day refund option.

I doubt that applies if you've broken it yourself..

Well, how would they determine this? (Unless he told them). Of course I'm not advocating you lie though :)

I do find it very weird that it would take that long for a replacement part.

How much will a new piece of glass set you back my Russia comrade?

Surely it will be cheaper and a lot more fun to fly back to Zurich, go German lady hunting for a week or so and get the iMac replaced straight away. Unless you're on the Eastern side of the Urals, in which case I'm not sure how much it would set you back to fly all the way to Zurich.

How did you manage to crack it any way? My imagination is running wild with Russian stereotypes for an explanation lol.

    Sacha

I just came back from Zurich and I dont have any intention to fly back , although im in love with this city . Im located in Moscow , but it doesnt help much since none of service centers here were able to help me . I was told in Zurich that glass for imac 27 costs around 100 usd , im willing to pay even 200 if i will get it in a week or so .

    The solution is obvious.

Ring your contact/family/friend in Zurich. Purchase the new glass, and get them to send it to you in Moscow. I bet it will take longer than a week though.

    How did you break it?

    Iskandermalikov,

Did you stay at a hotel? Did you become acquainted with the manager, receptionist, any member of staff there? Perhaps you could ring up the hotel and inform the manager of the situation and ask if he could help you out in this situation if you first wire him the money.

He will probably be happy to help you out as it will guarantee return custom.

If you offer to pay extra for the trouble it will probably be refused as well.

Sacha I might try that out , but I dont think its the best solution , i was looking for a place to order glass directly . The problem is Apple store in Zurich doesnt want to ship the glass directly to Moscow , they need my presence in Zurich , otherwise they cant help . This is very frustrating :(
