So I like to rock my phones naked and manage to keep them spotless. I haven’t really used a screen protector or a case since the iPhone 4S days.

However, with the iPhone 11 Pro this time around I thought why not give it a go, so ‪first ever experience with glass screen protector in life. Verdict - ‬

- Sacrifice of screen visibility
- Weird bump while swiping from the corners
- Fragile, broke the first one while trying to smooth out air bubbles.
- Feels like it will just peel off while I use the device.

Does anyone else feel the same? What screen protectors do you use, if at all?!

I have been using screen protectors from Zagg for years. They have saved my spouse’s iPhone several times and his iPad. This is what I got for my new iPhone
Invisible Shield Tempered Glass from Zagg.com Glass Elite VisionGuard+
I never liked screen protectors until I started using glass ones from Zagg.

I've never had any issues like that and I use the cheapo ones on Amazon. Usually whatever's on sale at that time.

I hate glass protectors. I still prefer plastic ones. Cheap, thin, nearly as good and no weird lip around buttons etcetera.

Weird. I’ve always, well for a while, used Tethys and never had too bad a luck with them. Definitely not as you describe in OP.

I think since most people use the screen protectors along with cases, they don’t really feel the 2nd and 3rd point I mentioned because the cases don’t really let you touch the edge of the screen and also for the same reason they might not feel that the screen protector will peel off.

I just got the Maxboost Edge-to-Edge screen protector. Very easy to install, no bubbles, smooth as silk, fingerprints rub off with a wipe on my jeans. Fits so well, you can’t even tell it’s there!

Zagg makes the best screen protectors around. Pricey, but you get what you pay for.
There’s a kiosk right outside my local Apple store that sells and applies them.
They always do a flawless job of it, whether it an iPhone or a 12.9" IPP.
Won’t use anything else.
On my current XS Max I had to use the screen protector that came with the case. Looked promising but affects screen quality and picks up smudges and finger oil like a magnet. Will immediately be going back to a Zagg when my 11 Pro Max arrives.

Visibility shouldn’t be affected, the edge is something you have to get used to though. I don’t mind it as much anymore, I would rather have a scratch free screen and deal with the edge though.

The right glass screen protector will add strength to the screen glass in the event of a drop. Plastic a;ways dulls the appearance of the screen. Plastic is nowhere near the quality of a glass protector.

This one. Really good reviews.

ESR Tempered-Glass for iPhone 11... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B074GWQMRS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

i think the issue is, that ESR protector is “case friendly”. Meaning it doesn’t go out to the edge of the screen but leaves a gap from where it ends, and the iPhone screen ends. So you are catching your finger in that small gap when you swipe. What you want to try are the “edge to edge” protectors. A lot less gap and they conform better to the edges of the screen...

That’s looks better than the one I bought. Have you tried to take the case off and then feel if the lip can be felt while swiping from the edges?.
My case is ultra thin, so I feel the edges of the screen either way. The screen protector is full screen with black borders, so it’s completely flush with the screen, feels very smooth, not rough like the Zagg ones I used to use. If you zoom in on my pics, you’ll see how it looks, the edges of the screen protector are not even visible. I haven’t been this impressed by a screen protector probably ever!

I'm using the Belkin InvisiGlass Ultra on my iPhone 11 Pro. It's the one Apple also uses. The local Apple reseller installed it on my iPhone with a special "machine" and it's a very nice protector. Looks great.

Ok, but what’s so good about them?
The absolutes screen clarity and complete lack of endless fingerprints and oily smudges.
Also any quality glass screen protector will add strength to the screen in drops.
Everyone has their favorites, this has been my experience with Zagg.

Can you suggest an edge to edge?

Do you guys use cases as well?!
Yes we do, usually cheaper cases. I bought my son a $5 Kiko case at a flea market for his XR and it’s very close to a Tech21. Great case.
My wife likes the clear/glittery tpu type on her 8+ I’m somewhat of a case junky myself, but I'ver never spent more than $20 American on my cases.

So what do you do when the screen protector gets scratched? Throw it out and get a new one? Sounds pointless. Just use the phone for a year and get the latest phone out every year.

I’m firmly in “camp no screen protector.” Just be sensible with your device and don’t put it in a pocket with keys or in your purse/bag/etc and you should be fine. That being said, I can’t bring myself to not use a case on these all glass phones as much as I really want to!

Um yeah, just that. Under $10 for a 3 or 4 pack, yup. Rather the screen protector get scratched than the screen. When I sell my phones, they're in top shape and that gets more of a return.
