Um yeah, just that. Under $10 for a 3 or 4 pack, yup. Rather the screen protector get scratched than the screen. When I sell my phones, they're in top shape and that gets more of a return.
How much more of a return do you get over just turning it into Apple and starting a new interest free loan year after year? Used market pricing has been coming down year after year and the hassle of fielding texts and meeting up with random strangers has just become a huge time suck.

I don't use Apple's program, I sell them privately mostly on swappa, when and if me/my family upgrades. Not a hassle at all. The value of selling a phone with a pristine screen is higher than trade in value at Apple or any carrier for that matter. So it works for me.

These screens have pretty great anti reflective coating on both sides of the glass usually baked in. Screen protectors do not have anything like this and only a few have it on one side. Visibility will always be affected to some degree.

Yes we do, usually cheaper cases. I bought my son a $5 Kiko case at a flea market for his XR and it’s very close to a Tech21. Great case.
My wife likes the clear/glittery tpu type on her 8+ I’m somewhat of a case junky myself, but I'ver never spent more than $20 American on my cases.

I think that’s the main reason why you don’t feel the lip. I don’t use any case so every time I swipe from the edge, I feel it.

Do you the 2.5D screen protectors, they're rounded on the edges and you're not supposed to be able to feel the edges. Some I've used were awful, just a straight cut on the edges and man, they were horrible.

Edit: and again, some people just don't care for the feel of a screen protector and prefer the naked feel. I get it.

You should try the amFilm ones, only $5.99 from Amazon!

I always hated screen protectors, due to the bubbles and scratches on those old film ones; but since discovering those amFilm ones, I use them all the time now and am never reminded that I'm always looking right thought it! They do not mess with screen visibility.

So I like to rock my phones naked and manage to keep them spotless. I haven’t really used a screen protector or a case since the iPhone 4S days.

However, with the iPhone 11 Pro this time around I thought why not give it a go, so ‪first ever experience with glass screen protector in life. Verdict - ‬

- Sacrifice of screen visibility
- Weird bump while swiping from the corners
- Fragile, broke the first one while trying to smooth out air bubbles.
- Feels like it will just peel off while I use the device.

Does anyone else feel the same? What screen protectors do you use, if at all?!

No, don’t think mine is any such D. I just chose the amazon choice option that had over 2000 reviews and was a 4.5/5 stars. Think I’ll try out the ones you’re talking about.

Thanks. Will take a look.

So what do you do when the screen protector gets scratched? Throw it out and get a new one? Sounds pointless. Just use the phone for a year and get the latest phone out every year.

I’m firmly in “camp no screen protector.” Just be sensible with your device and don’t put it in a pocket with keys or in your purse/bag/etc and you should be fine. That being said, I can’t bring myself to not use a case on these all glass phones as much as I really want to!
Yeah because spending $1k+ every year vs $10-30 on a screen protector makes sense. The glass screen protectors usually don’t scratch because they are much harder, so worst case it cracks and I have to get a new one, but that will save my screen so not really a loss there. You do you though. I personally can’t stand scratches on my screen.

amFilm Glass Screen Protector

Hands down the best I’ve used so far, had it in my XS and it fits perfectly on my iPhone 11 Pro. Big enough to actually cover the entire screen without any rainbow effects.

The edges are also very smooth so you won’t even feel the glass screen protector when gliding over it.

Had a screen protector on my iPhone 7 but this time I decided to go without on my iPhone 11. Mainly due to the otter box having a raised lip around the entire phone. I have yet to drop it yet but I’m quite sure panic and rage will ensue.

I’m not a fan of screen protectors, but I use them now. If you live near a TJ Max, they have lots of screen protectors, but not sure for the new phones yet.

This is the old version. There is a new full coverage one with a rounded black flexible edging that softens things when swiping. Also comes with a guide template to make installation simple.

ESR Full-Coverage Tempered-Glass... https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07VZV2C9R?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

With the one that I’ve got on I can see smudge like artefacts on the screen even though the screen is clean. Looks like these glass ones aren’t as good as I thought. Might try the newer ones.

AppleCare+ accident is what...$100?

Yeah I mean I’ve got Apple care + which is gonna cover both back and front crack

I’m only trying out the screen protectors to avoid scratching which is not covered by Apple care + Although I’ve been using iPhones since at least the last 8-9 years without any screen protectors and without any scratches. But just thought of trying it out this time. However, that price feels a bit too much just for a trial.

I can't accept the fact that my screen is getting scratches to bits without one so I always use one. I never had an issue with clarity or anything like that. touch sensitivities are just as same. But just add bonus of keeping my screen flawless...until I don't want to use cases anymore which is always the year that a new design iPhone comes out. So I get to enjoy no protection for that year. Best of both worlds.

Just installed the Shellrus :eek::eek: Yeah its $70 but it will not get scratches. It is a sapphire crystal screen protector. The only reason i got it, these newer iphone screens scratch no matter how much you baby them. I put a tempered glass screen protector on and 2 days later , micro scratches and deeper scratches out the ass. You can take sandpaper to this thing and its still flawless. If you don't want scratches get one!!!!!

How does the oleophobic coating hold up over time? I love the feel of a brand new screen protector but I find they all start to get the sticky fingerprints after a few months.

Ive only had it on a few days but so far the coating is holding up good. I have used those liquid screen protectors before and they are easy to apply and it feels like a new coating.
The shellrus is amazing though.

Did you buy the new V2 or the old version? Also, how reflective is it?
