Very heart broken with beta 3
I think what they need is a toggle
I really liked beta 2 much better than 3.
( I haven’t tested beta 1 but I heard it was even more prettier than 2 )
As someone who dislikes the liquid glass look, I’d certainly be up for a toggle to turn it off. That way those who like it could have the full effect and the opposite for those who don’t. Covers all bases.

Using B3, I'm really surprised at some of the lousy graphics, particularly white and light grey text on grey backgrounds, as shown in the files attached. Pretty hard to comprehend how something this bad gets out into the field. And yes, I realise it's a beta.
If you comprehend it’s a beta, then you also understand how something this bad gets out. A beta is unfinished, the design is unfinished. Water is wet.

my only gripe with liquid is how uncooked it all looks, like I can imagine working on it for last 2 years and now releasing with some small bugs or inconsistency but it was sdvertisied similar to AI like a completely new UI design and from the changes from one beta to another we can cleary see it is completly work in progress and some basic decision considering transparency, overlapping elements are just not there. iOS is still not that bad, MacOS is like a ******** rn.

TLDR. liquid glass will end up similar to Apple Intelligence, they will release iOS 19 or smth and will say they have to work more on 26 and come back in next 10 years

The iOS generation are so binary, they either love it, or hate it, no understanding of it being 'in progress, aka beta'. You know we've only had personal mainstream computing for around 40 years.

Yeah I'm very disapointed. Now iOS 26 looks almost like 18 and I don't feel a major design change as before. Previous beta looking so much better than what we see now. If it stay that way it will be one of the worst update I've seen in years.

Can't believe Apple listened all those crybabies who can't stand any changes but they are so loud that Apple think everyone don't like it.
I guess you weren’t around when iOS 11 dropped?
Personally, the part I dislike the most about LG is that it’s so inconsistent. That’s why it looks goofy more often than not.
It adds color shapes in some places and not in others.
I’ve gathered a lot of screenshots from beta 2 that show how bad a dynamic system like this can be.
I welcome the changes in beta 3, but I also agree that it’s not the way to go. There should be a better compromise than this.

Yup. LG gotta LG.

A user interface should be something you barely notice, ideally, you shouldn’t even feel like you’re using one. In the end, it’s just a layer between the user and the task they want to complete. The best UI would be one where you simply think of something, and it happens. Until that’s possible, we rely on various interfaces like iOS. But even then, the goal should be to make them as invisible as possible.

With iOS 26, the problem is that you’re constantly aware of the interface, you feel it, and not in a good way. Every interaction reminds you of the design choices and the friction they create. And if a toggle has to be added in the settings just to make the UI usable, then it’s a clear sign that things have gone off track.

Regarding the visuals. To exaggerate a bit, the boldest previews of iOS 26 look like someone used the “invert colors” function on Windows Vista. The fact that Apple failed with its AI features didn’t sink the ship, after all, only a small portion of users actively rely on those. But this is about the entire user interface, every part of it, something we interact with daily. That’s a serious misstep from Apple.

I’m glad apple listened for beta 4. Now it look great again.
Hardly. It’s unnecessary and a lot of things are difficult to read. It’s like having a piece of paper and making it wet and then trying to read with the writing from the reverse side coming through.

I’ve been beta testing for a long long time and for a 4th beta this is one of the worst implementations I’ve ever seen from Apple. They seem to be in denial. It’s also incredibly sluggish. Something as simple as opening the phone app and moving between screens takes twice as long. Opening camera to take a selfie.. twice as long.

If this is indicative of the designers and quality of devs in Apple now, if they release this without major backpedaling, their stock is going to plummet.

Performance wise, it run fine on my M1 iPad pro so, don't know how it is on phones. For legibility, I don't know what to say, the only problem I had was the notifications, but with the screen being darker now when scrolling, it pretty much solve my issue and it looks gorgeous.
