Glitch? Or bad luck? (updated with video) - SOLVED!

Just got home and began setting up my new Apple Watch. All is well for a minute or so.

Until I try to pull up a contact. I tap onto my wife's icon, and the Watch reboots. I figured maybe a little glitch, so I did a hard reboot. Same thing!

Now I am erasing all content and starting the pairing process from the beginning.

Uh oh - after uninstalling and re-installing I have the same issue.

Will upload video to show whats happening in case anyone has a suggestion.

My roommate had his 38mm blue sport replaced at the local Apple store after speaking with support and booking an appointment. His was for the vibration not working though.

Thats the perfect excuse on why you aren't calling her or answering her messages. Sounds like a blessing to me!! Haha! I'm just kidding and I hope you get it fixed.

It just seems odd because it seems like it would be a software glitch, and not something that would need to be replaced.

Could be software or hardware. Hope the Apple store can replace. I have my doubts about them being able to fix much on the watch.

Try adding another contact to the list and see if it happens when you tap on them.

That's probably part of the issue, then. It's my understanding all favorites should show up there. I'd suggest removing your wife from the favorites, temporarily. Then see what happens.

Watch companion app on iPhone > Friends > Add Friend

I figured it out! I deleted my wife (that doesn't sound right), then re-added her with less info. This solved the crashing.

BUT - something is still obviously an issue within certain contacts. Hopefully Apple will fix in an update.
