The anti-glare gives a better sense of what colors naturally look like, and being a web designer I would think that is pretty important. Most people use matte screens so what looks good on your screen might look under-staturated on their screens.

Personally I prefer the anti-glare, and unless you didn't really do anything but watch a lot of movies I don't see why you wouldn't get it. Glossy is useless for about anything else IMO. Really though, personal preference should outweigh anything else, just be careful when color reproduction is an important factor, it's not like you could opt for an IPS display or anything.
Agree, like I said in another thread the people I knew that had glossy but are in heavy type design work (3D, graphics, web etc) all switched over to anti-glare.

The one thing I hate about my 13" Pro is the glossy screen, it glares and reflects like crazy, annoying as hell. I'm in my home office right now and have the the lights off, and blinds open only partly and it's still like working in front of a mirror (and today is cloudy, no sun light). Hope Apple offers it on the next 13. or I'll be upgraded to a 15" Pro to get it... though that seems to be their plan that if you want it they force you to pay for the 15/17

Thanks for that information :)

I will mostly be converting videos and using Photoshop on my MBP.

Can you even get a matte screen on the Air?

No you can not, but the glossy on the air is different than the MBP since it doesn't have that extra layer of glass on the Air.

Die-Hard Matte Display Fan Here...

... but I just purchased a new 13" MBP. At around $900 I couldn't pass it up... I have a 2008 15" MBP but it's too big for my kind of traveling and it's getting a bit long in the tooth.

I added Power Support anti-glare film. I used the same film on my iPad so I knew what I was buying. $35 and I am really surprised at how good it looks. Reflections are no longer a problem. I compared it with my 15" MBP and they look pretty close.

I have two matte screens and one glossy screen the best of both world...it is about the premium price if you go with hi-res glossy screen than matte screen.

Lets assume you're actually a professional web designer who cares about exact color correction. You own a 30" IPS display (or better yet, a CRT display), that's been color coordinated using $1000 software.

It doesn't matter what laptop you use, with a glossy or matte screen, since not a single laptop on the market will ever come close to the monitor you use.

If you're not really that hardcore into web design, a glossy or matte display should be good enough, just make sure you check the colors running Windows NATIVELY and using friends' computers.

If your a web designer matt screen may be more suitable since its anti-reflect therefore your eyes will get less strain from long hours of work. Thats one difference I can think of a the moment  oh also reflection won't affect your display so your actually seeing 100% of what your working on haha
