Since people here tend to be biased toward what they own, and more people own classic laptops -- I would tend to conclude that the poll demonstrates that the glossy screen is not as bad as many people think, but nonetheless didn't Apple make a mistake by not offering an option?

I would have picked matte based on my own experiences owning many mac laptops with matte screens and reading the complaints, but since getting the new MBP in my sig, honestly the glossy screen is not a problem, on the contrary I think it looks very nice & I wouldn't want to switch to matte. I find that glass goes well with the overall design. It's also easier to keep clean.

Another Glossy Vote here... kind of...

My first Mac had a matte screen. I was afraid of the Glossy because of all the negative comments I had read. When I got my first MB I was scared, but the screen was a total non-event. Now with my new Alum, I love the glossy screen. Frankly, whatever it comes with, I could be happy... given a choice, I like the brightness of the glossy. I have zero glare issues.

i prefer the glossy, it seems more clear and smooth. That said i understand the concern people have with it, i like it though.
