Gmail App and Notifications for Filtered Emails

It seems like the Gmail app doesn't seem to notify me of new emails that are filtered to be automatically archived and labelled. Is there a setting that I'm missing here?

When you archive a message it's because you don't wan't it to go trough inbox so i doesn't notify (on any platform).

I you want the app to notify you just create a filter that labels that kind of messages and do not auto archive.
