So I just spent some time organizing my Gmail account back with Apple's Mail client.
I created labels on Gmail (which show up as folders in Apple Mail). I synced via IMAP.
In Mail, I created rules to sort out my emails (i.e if this happens, send it to "School/Emails"), then it would update Gmail, apply the "label" on Gmail, and move it to that folder.
I set it up this way so that changes in Mail and Gmail would reflect each other perfectly.
This is where the problem set in. I decided I wanted to go back, and removed all of the labels in Gmail. I assumed that everything would go back to one giant inbox.
Unfortunately, nothing shows up in the Inbox. Only in "Sent".
My Gmail usage is still the same as it was, so I know the emails weren't deleted.
I was thinking about just making another massive rule in Mail, that sends everything back to the Inbox. But Mail tried to Sync, and saw that the folders no longer existed.
Obviously I could have worked around this before but I can't think of anything else to do, and I can't find any work arounds. Disabling IMAP maybe?
Any ideas?
