Geektool is pretty cool, but it would be nice if I could tell how many messages I have in Gmail.

Unfortunately the only ways to do this either re too confusing or don't work.
 
Its a while since I tried, but doesn't Gmail have a RSS feed? If so there are plenty of scripts that will pull RSS data into Geektool. Lifehacker recommended one a while back;

Doesn't work for me...
New questions:
1. It is chmod 755 to make .sh file exectutable, right?
2. How would you configure the script to work with Gmail?
3. It does support "feed://mail.google.com/mail/feed/atom", particularly the "feed://" portion?
