Gmail push email in Mac mail

Hello,
This is something I couldn't seem to find a definite answer to anywhere. Is there anyway to have push email in Mac mail with a Gmail account?

Just set up a new account in mac mail and enter your email and password info for gmail and it will automatically check for gmail emails every however minutes you set in the mac mail preferences.
