I switched over to gmail from yahoo mail quite a few months ago after testing it for a while.

unfortunately i didn't notice how gmail takes FOREVER to send an email.

I sent something to my work email last night and I didn't get it until just now.

sorry for the caps, but i'm frustrated at this.

    anyone else experience this?

Better watch your step friend or you will get a bunch of replies jumping at you for daring to complain about the lovely Mac friendly (non MS) Google and Gmail.

With comments like "what do you expect its still in Beta" (like its been for the last 2 ******* years).

No seriously I occasionally send from a PC with a dial up account and Outlook 2002 and you can basically forget trying to send moderate sized attachments.

i havent experienced any of the problems that you describe. most of the time, sending emails even with large attachments is quite speedy. there have been periods of use where i have observed "slowing", but nothing worthy of note (i.e.your 17 hours!)

could it be your internet connection? were you sending a large file? busy network traffic maybe?

I guess I didn't make it clear. This will happen to me with emails large and small, no matter how fast my connection is. At home, I have cable internet, plenty fast, and at work I have your typical T1 or whatever line, very very fast. Regardless, it seems most of my email sent through gmail seems to take a long time, as long as a day sometimes.

I'm not sure what the problem is, or how consistent it is, but I'm sure that it has nothing to do with my set up since it exhibits the same behavior from different locations.

I thought I might find someone else with the same problem, I guess not so far. I'll try to contact google. I'll let you guys know what I find out if you're interested.

    Thanks for the replies.
