Anyone having issues getting Gmail on their iPhone? I'm running the Verizion 4.2.6 version and out of no where I am getting an error message stating the username and password are incorrect for imap.gmail.com.

I can log into my Gmail account from the web just fine using the same username/password.

I've deleted the Gmail account, re-added it to no avail.

Anyone else having this issue or is it just me?

Thanks in advance!

I've encountered this problem on several Verizon iPhones.
Different iPhones and different gmail accounts.

As far as a solution, nothing I've tried has provided a concrete solution.
Gmail starts working again after changing the password but the fix doesn't stick.

Sorry, that's a really lame response, but the truth.

Hopefully someone here has a solution..

It seems to be a recurring problem with Gmail servers. My gmail accounts will be fine. Everything works as always. Then out of nowhere, the pop up message will come up "incorrect password". It usually works itself out in a few minutes, hours. But it is annoying.

Also my push gmail sometimes doesn't always push. Probably 90% get through, with 10% needing to be manually pulled.

It always returns to normal after a while.

I just got the incorrect password for my gmail account too the other day. I also got incorrect wifi password? First time experiencing this...

I had this exact issue monday.

The fix is simple, just reboot the phone. I was going to change the password but thats all it took.

Sometimes a restart of the iPhone will work for me. If that doesn't work I'll delete the old gmail exchange profile and create a new exchange profile and presto it works again.

I haven't had any problems over the past few days though. It's been at least a few months since i've had any problems.
