As this spans multiple iOS versions i thought i should update here

Google have just released a gmail app update to now include multiple accounts (omg finally!) and a refreshed interface.

On first glance/use it looks pretty great. Multiple accounts work quite nicely, notification integration works well, notifications pushed quickly to the phone for all accounts. If you are using banner notifications pressing them takes you straight to the message (as expected). Interface is smooth and quick on my 4s and it's extremely handy having the threading, labels, filters and search facility in one app. Only issue encountered so far are badges. Previously had them turned off. I re-enabled in notification centre after the update but they didn't show. Had to manually close the app from the task bar and re-start.

I think this is what i've been waiting for, for what seems like ages now.

And just in case you didnt see the other thread, YouTube app now supports the iPad. (App store, search youtube, select iphone apps and download).

Unified inbox would make it perfect.

With multiple account support, Gmail is now officially a better app than the built-in mail app. There's no reason for gmail users to use anything else.

The mail app doesn't search my gmail very well at all--it misses things that I thought were in my box, and sure enough, searching using the native gmail app produces the email that I was looking for.

If apple is not going to make their own email service and get serious about competing with Gmail, they should work on supporting all the other email services as robustly as possible.

Nice. I noticed this on my ipad this morning, i didn't know it was updated for iphone too.

Finally youtube for ipad!

Wheres google maps
