Gmail won't send- XP

hi, i am actually on a PC roght now, not Mac w/ XP installed, but anyway, my Gmail account won't send messages. It doesn't freeze, i can edit & save messages, but they won't send... when i click Send, nothing happens... any ideas? thankx
