You can use it as an opportunity to "manage your contacts," like manually add them and realize that the contact is outdated, etc.
This might be a little ghetto, but I just composed an email in yahoo, went to addresses, and clicked on everyone, then cut and pasted it to a gmail email saying hi. gmail automatically stores every email address you send or receive mail from, so it'll all be in there. cheers-
