I love Gmail. I use it all the time and encourage anyone who doesn't.. should. I wish I could forward all other emails from hotmail, yahoo, and etc just to my Gmail!

What is so great about gmail? I have an account, but I get spammed all the time, I hate the interface, and It never revceives anything sent to it!

Gmail sucks.

Go Excite (For school buddies) and Yahoo (For non-school stuff)

I was very unimpressed with my Gmail accounts. I'm sticking to my e-mail-for-life account when I graduated from one university for most things, and my current university's account for research related mail. Both universities are very good a blocking spam.

On a given day I use many different ones such as Mac mail, gmail, hotmail, aol, gol, private, and others work related.

Yes, I have way too many e-mail accounts!

I have also noticed that my Gmail account is a big spam magnet, but their spam filter does such a good job that it's pretty rare for a spam message to slip through and actually show up in my Inbox.

Agree that the interface is clunky -- I have yet to see a webmail interface that isn't, and I've tried most of them -- but I mostly access it through Mail.app anyways. I've never had issues (that I can recall) with Gmail not receiving messages sent to it.

I use gmail, but I also have a Hotmail account that I never check and just use for when I think that a site may send me spam.

I use Gmail, I've had it since January of 2006, and it has almost 15,000 emails on it, so I'm tied to it. That and I have a good email address :p.

Yahoooo. i have had the account for several years. I also use gmail on occation and was lucky enough to have the same name on both.

I use gmail the most, but regularly use Lotus Notes at work, Verzion through my Mac, hotmail and yahoo.

I like the Gmail interface and search features the most. Spam-wise all my settings on the different accounts automatically send it to junk folders. Once I stopped deleteting the junk folders every day it got a lot less annoying, but Yahoo seems to get the most junk from what I've seen.

i use gmail hosted.

it's good, and it came in very useful during the 9 months until march i was without a laptop (seeing the same mail everywhere is good), but now i've got the MBP i might just trash it for IMAP access and mail.app.

i miss the IMAP.

Gmail, but only with POP access.
I find their web interface abysmal.

Mostly using it for their excellent SPAM filter.

That's so interesting how perceptions can vary....

I don't particularly like their POP, although I can live with it. I love their web interface (I use a mix -- I have one Mac at home that collects with Mail.app and I use web interfaces everywhere else). I think their spam filter is garbage. :D

But anyway, in hindsight, and if it were not for how much I personally do like their web interface, I would hand out my AOL account address much more and my GMail one much less.

I know one software developer who uses Gmail to filter out all the SPAM and then he just forwards the mail to his normal mail account.

I couldn't go back to POP3 now. It's an IMAP, or it's nothing.
See, I have POP3. I've tried IMAP, and I just can't get to like it. I hate it.

Also, for the poll, Gmail FTW!

Besides Gmail, however, I have pretty much as many emails as you can think of. At least 4 gmail accounts, 3 hotmail, 2 yahoo, an undergrad college one, law school one, comcast one, you name it. And with the exception of the hotmail and yahoo accounts (b/c they don't play well with Mail.app when POP3), I have like 8 accounts set up through Mail.app. I love it!

P.S. And for those who are wondering, yes, I do use each and every single address for different things :) (i.e. undergrad communication, law school communication, one for eBay account, one for spam account, one for craigslist account (totally annonymous), etc.)

Primarily Gmail through Mail.app, I have more than one Gmail for other junk stuff, hotmail, yahoo, uni through mirapoint, squirrel mail :)

Can Mail.app retrieve email from several Gmail accounts?

I haven't done it but I don't see why not. You just setup a new account in Mail.app and then it just happens to have the same server and port information, should work fine.

Unless they're all dumping the same information I'd suggest you get some solid rules setup so they don't all bugger-up your standard inbox.
