The best implementation of the popular Couch to 5k running program:

    • voice feedback
    • (near) real-time visual feedback
    • full running history
    • extensive details view of each run, with speed, time, maps
    • ability to pick music or run in silence
    • share the best results on Facebook and/or Twitter

Uses GPS tracking to measure speed and distance, even while the app is in the background.

Get it on the App Store now: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/go-couch-to-5k/id406825271?mt=8

I was a little confused when first reading the name of the app. Thought maybe it was something dealing with watching TV.
Is this one of those words that has a different meaning in British English (or other versions)?
    Because in American English-
"Couch" means something you sit on (also called a sofa)
    "Coach" means an athletic trainer/instructor
Or is the name supposed to mean something entirely different?

(Nothing against the app itself, just wondering if my interpretation of the name is messed up)

Your understanding is ok, no worries :)
This is a famous beginner program, where idea is to move away from seating on the couch to start moving out and jog a bit.

Full phrase would be from couch to 5k run.

Ah, that makes complete sense now.
Maybe if I did not spend so much time indoors recently I would have made the connection. ;)
    It does look interesting.
