I have a preorder for the Nike version in silver/silver. I noticed that best buy has 2 day availability for AW2 in space grey with the grey with the woven band (apple inexplicably says 3-4 weeks). i'm a bit torn. The Nike version looks awesome but it also looks unusable in a work environment. I am not a serious runner - just a weekend warrior type. From what I can tell the Nike doesn't offer any real improvements over the regular AW2. And, I would probably prefer a more flexible version that I can use for work and gym. Stainless steel is out of my budget. I really like the aluminum silver and silver woven band but that one's not available. Wait for Nike or pull the trigger now? Is the Nike strictly for gym use based on the look? Can the bands be swapped just like all AW's for a more conservative look during the week?

What do you mean by "looks unusable in a work environment"? If you're talking about the look then just buy ordinary sport band and it will look just like regular AW.

All the bands can be interchanged between all Apple Watch models. The Nike and Series 2 are the same aluminum casing, with the Nike Watch being exclusive.

I'm expecting Nike to have some exclusive Watch faces (like their other collaborations like Hermés). The. Oxnwill be different and so will then and, though that can be swapped. Perhaps the bands will be sold on the side (I fully expect this to be the case particularly since there are different colors).

I'd get the Nike version because the only thing I don't like about the standard, non-vented Sport band is that it doesn't breathe well. Really, I like everything else about it.

As far as whether it's appropriate for an office environment, I guess it kinda depends on the office. Where I've worked, an AW fits in with Garmin Forerunners. They seem to get a free pass because they imply that the wearer cares about their physical health.

If your workplace is fancy enough for a sport watch to be inappropriate, hopefully your salary is enough to get an extra strap to dress it up.

As others have said, you can get another band to swap. I'd wait to get the Nike Watch, because currently that's the only way to get the Nike band. I've tried the Nike band on at an Apple Store, and it's more comfortable than the regular sports band, just in terms of how it feels on your wrist, even before you get sweaty or anything.

Definitely wait for the Nike Watch even if it is simply for the extra watch faces. You have waited this long already, so wait until the end of the month or so...

Gonna stick it out. Thanks for the replies. Hoping it shows up before my vacation on 10 22...

Interesting fact here, the other day while on vacation in Italy I purchased a new Space Grey Sport Model watch and the store had EVERY Apple Watch 2 in stock, even all the Nike Watches. Even in busy Florence, Italy the store was pretty slow compared to the US stores.

Are you sure they had it for sale, and not just on display? Stores in US have Nike+ Watches on display and to try on, but they aren't for sale.

I'm hoping to buy the Nike watch in the near future. I agree that the band doesn't really work for professional settings, but decent third party bands can be bought from Amazon for $20 - $40. A replica non-Nike sport band can be purchased for about $10 from Amazon and they have glowing reviews.

I was surprised to, yes every watch available. I almost purchased the Nike but went with the regular Sport model after all.

the flip side of buying the nike version and swapping out regular bands is that we will probably be able to buy knock-offs of the nike bands and add them to a regular sport model. I seriously doubt that the new watch faces will be anything revolutionary, and I don't really need siri to start my runs. I, too, wanted the Nike version, but I didn't want to wait, so I purchased the sport and have no regrets.

Nike Watch releases on October 28th - Apple quietly updated their site the past day or so

I went to the Apple Store today and tried them on. I love the Nike AW black/cool gray. They didn't have the series 2 in stock so I wasn't tempted with that, but I would have waited for the Nike even if they did have the S2 in stock.

My order says November 14 - 21. Fingers crossed that it comes earlier than that =)

I wasn't really that bothered about the Nike version or waiting for its release if I'm 100% honest. The straps look like they might be quite good for running/swimming but not really sold on the Nike exclusive faces. You can pick up third party straps like this one :- https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01MCUC...16141&sr=8-3&keywords=Apple+Watch+strap+sport for about £25.

However, now that the time/funds has come for me to buy my Watch, availability of the regular Space Grey seems to have pushed into mid-November so it looks like I'll be able to walk into an  store and pick up a Nike version first.

Tin foil hat now on, but I can't help but think apple are holding back stock of the regular Space Grey until after the Nike version comes out to boost sales of it.

Either way I'll be picking one up soon, just a question of willpower.

The photos look like they grabbed them from the Apple website. I will wait to see how close they look once a few people have bought them.

XMDirect only seems to be selling them in the UK.
