Is there a reason every link is being tracked that we click on when we want to visit the forums or view comments from the main site? Instead of going to the forum (forum.macrumors.com, etc.) it's going to go.macrumors.com and tracking our clicks, some UUIDs, etc.? Before it would just go straight to the forums....

That's a service which adds affiliate tags to our links. Like, if we link to Amazon, for example. So that's why it intercepts links before redirecting you. If it ends up being a forums link, it just passes it through.

Usually it's done on the javascript level so it usually doesn't seem to do a redirect to non-affiliate-links... but I've seen it happen both ways. not sure the discrepancy.

Like right now if I click on a link on this page, I don't see it redirecting through go.macrumors.com

Hi Arnold,

I appreciate the quick reply and info regarding the links! All good and totally understandable. Been here since the beginning. 👍✌️
