I.m surprised there is no mention of this company on this site: http://www.gocare.com/iphone-insurance

Their plan covers mechanic breakdowns, accidents (drops, spills, etc) plus theft and lost phones...$50 deductible.

iphone 4
$59/yr
$97/2yrs

And can be added at anytime..

This is a much better deal then squaretrade and even better the applecare.
Anyone have experience with this company?

wouldn't trust them...
go applecare+, square trade or AT&T any of those should be better...

They are legit. Look up reviews on them. I used them for my last iPhone. Also insureappleiphone.com.

collegestudentinsurance.com

covers all your personal property for about 100 bucks a year with no deductible, if you so choose.

A much better deal? I think for $2 extra I'll go with AppleCare+ and have the convenience of going straight to the closest genius bar to swap out my phone if need be.

That works if genius bar isn't 5 hours from where you live :/

Never heard of them but http://www.squaretrade.com/ does the same thing and is a very reputable company.

No theft or loss protection from square. Big disadvantage imo

Dont think you bothered comparing the 2...

With applecare, you only get coverage for 2 incidents (who knows what incidents apple will or will not cover), no theft protection or a loaner phone?

This is clearly a better deal..

Reasons for why you would stay away?

+1! Totally agree!!

If you have AppleCare+, and there isn't an AppleStore nearby, then Apple will overnight FedEx a new phone to you.

Apple's customer service is superior to that of any company selling warranties...

Jeez, some really dense people here.

Applecare's protection is VERY limited compared to gocare.com's....like THEFT/LOSS is NOT COVERED.

So $2 more for 'superior service' wont matter if apple wont even bother seeing you

I'm sure they'll provide excellent service, right up to the day they fold their tent and disappear with all their customers' premium payments. Extended warranty companies that have turned out to be scams FAR outnumber those that are legit.

Who knows, maybe this one is an exception. But I'm not sending them any money

Ok, so i was wrong... they have discontinued protection against theft/loss

The rest of the coverage is quite solid at $59/yr ($97 for 2).

- unlimited claims
- mechanical breakdowns
- accidental drops, spills, etc
- used iphones,
- unlocked phones
- 24 hr claims handling
- data recovery
- loaner phone

I would prefer to have Applecare like on my macs but this still seems better. And better then squaretrade in a few respects like no 30 day limit to register and unlimited claims.

----------

fyi - this company covers theft/loss and will give you a new phone for ~50% less.

https://www.insureappleiphone.com/FAQ.html

- $69/yr
- insure anytime
- $50 deductible
- used or unlocked phones

- $75 deductible
- Unlimited repair claims, only one replacement per policy
- They decide whether to repair/replace, if they replace (even with a used phone) your coverage ends
