Goes to sleep, shuts off....sometimes

G5 iMac, Screensaver comes on, a while later...maybe an hour, it goes to sleep. Sure enough, when I come back, most of the time it is turned off. Whats with this? I have nothing set to do so.

So the sleep light isn't pulsing? If it's shutting down, then I'd try resetting the SMU. 🙂

Odd enough, while I was reading your message, it shut off on me. Did what you suggested, we'll see what happens.

Update to 10.4.7. Now when the screensaver comes on, it shuts off.....bam, right then.

Take it in to Apple. Some of these iMacs had power supply issues so you shouldn't have too much trouble getting repaired. 🙂
