Anyone take the plunge and upgraded from the 12 pro to the 14 pro?

The one reservation I have is the awfully huge camera footprint compared to the 12 pro.

Anyone have the same concern? Did you get used to it yet?

Also, can anyone confirm whether or not the camera bump prevents the phone from laying flat using the Apple Silicone case?

Thanks!

I went 12 Pro Max to 14 Pro Max. Camera Bump is not issue for me.
I just don’t see what some people see as far as it being too large. I did compare it to the 12 PM and could see the difference but I just doesn’t bother me.

I have 2 cases. The Apple Leather case and a Spigen Mag Armor case.

The Apple case has a bigger lip on the camera cut out to protect the lenses when laying on a surface.
Of course it’s not going to lay completely flat because the bump isn’t flush with the back of the phone.
This doesn’t matter to me. I rather have the lens protection than have it lay flush.

I’d stay away from the iPhone 14 until the bugs are fixed. I have to restart my phone every time I want to take a video.

Upgraded to the 14Pro from the 12Pro. So far very happy. Love macro mode and 3X zoom. The screen is gorgeous and bright with the 120 refresh rate. Can totally tell the difference in quality of photos also. I have it in the Midnight Apple Leather case and the camera bump is not a concern at all.

I like how the iphone 12 pro lies completely flat with the Apple silicone and leather cases. Guess those days are long gone. 🤨

I’ve never had that issue when taking a video. Are you using the beta?

No. I’ve had issues with the camera on 16, 16.0.1 and 16.0.2. Now the only way I can take video without constant crashes is to open it in the Lock Screen.

I have a 14 Pro Max with 256GBs.

Traded in my 12pmax for a 14pmax. The camera bump is considerable, to the point that I didn’t think my Caudabe Sheath case would protect the lens, but it does. The new phone is noticeable thicker and heavier than the 12promax which I had to get used to.

I’ve noticed very little difference in picture quality and video quality, although I admit the action mode is legit. The 120 refresh rate is noticeable and silky smooth. 2000 nits works great in direct sunlight. Would be great if I can access Dynamic Island from reachability mode, but I hear that’s coming in iOS 16.1.

Overall I’m satisfied, but not blown away.

12PM to 14PM big upgrade, much quicker overall, better camera, AOD is fantastic, screen brightness especially outside is noticeably better. Camera bump is a non issue

I’m hoping to switch the the 14 pro max from the 12 pro max. My biggest hope is a better modem. Right now my Verizon service has dropped off. can anyone chime in on cell signal with the 14 pro

No regrets here. I liked my 12 Pro, no major issues but between having battery degradation as well as a potential intermittent issue with the earpiece microphone, I just upgraded. I know the change was not major but keeping the same price point in my region didn't hurt, lol

This is a bad comparison thread. Of course the 14 pro over the 12 pro because the 12 Pro doesn’t even have promotion. You can upgrade on that alone

Try a clean install if you haven’t already.

Went to 14PM from the regular 12, which of course is a nice leap and I do like it a lot. The size is something I'm getting used to. I feel concerned about the camera lenses when I put the phone in my bag, so am getting an Ornarto case from Amazon that covers the camera lens orifices better.

I upgraded from 12 to 14 pro. It’s heavier. I was not a big fan of those big cameras from the 13s, but it doesn’t bother me a bit. My ink leather case sits a little higher around the camera but I like having it face down when I put my phone down, so no issue at all. My husband went from 12pm to 14pm. We both absolutely love ours. But that’s because we (almost) haven’t had any weird issues like others say.

I went from a 12 pro to a 14 pro max. So on top of all the new features I got a screen real estate bump which I am enjoying. Still "test driving" the 14 pro max (haven't installed the cellular yet) but I am preparing to do so right now.

Camera bump never bothered me and I find it odd that people make a big deal about it. Yes, its considerably bigger coming from a 12 pro. Also, the apple silicone case camera "lip" is made of hard plastic and raises the phone a bit off from the table.

Also, my carrier offered $400 to upgrade and if I can sell my 12 pro for a good chunk of change that covers a lot of the cost. New phone should last me until the next "redesign" maybe 2-3 years from now so I am happy.
