I am excited to finally have a device I can hold and use in one hand. The larger X/XS/11 Pro devices have treated me well, and I’ve enjoyed their strong battery life and outstanding cameras. While I was at first torn between a larger phone with pro features or a smaller device, the choice is now very clear to me...5.4” here I come.

Who else will be “downgrading” to the 5.4” iPhone when it launches in September? 🖐📲

I am interested what aspect ratio Apple chooses. If it stays the same width as the 5.8”, but shorter then I will be interested. Although I used to have a 7 Plus, since I have had an iPad Pro, I use that for any real working or more than quick viewing on the go - so have little need or want for a large phone. I hope Apple goes for the styling of the iPad Pro with square edges which would make the 5.4” all that more attractive.

I, too, am eager to see what aspect ratio they decide on. I find the iPhone 11 Pro screen to be too wide, so I’m hoping they don’t keep the same width.

I am leaning towards getting the 5.4” (coming from SE) provided it isn’t $1,000+ dollars. I don’t want a wide phone. I use my iPad mini 5 most of the time.

I’m not expecting the 5.4” model to cost $1,000. Here’s how I think the lineup will be priced.

iPhone SE2 - $399
iPhone 12 5.4” - $599
iPhone 12 6.1” - $699
iPhone 12 Pro 6.1” - $999
iPhone 12 Pro Max 6.7” - $1099

I am interested, having just switched from iPhone 7 to 11. However, I expect it to be priced somewhere between the current iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11, so anywhere between 699$ and 999$. Those OLED screens are still costly.

I would be interested in a 5.4 inch device, as long as it has pro level camera and connectivity. I'd definitely move down in size from the 5.8 inch model I currently have (iPhone 11 Pro).

i hope not, rumors do state some new iphone will have 4g and not 5g, at the very least i hope apple use qualcomm 4g.
Yeah, it was my understanding that the iPhone SE2 would be the only new 4G device in 2020, but I assumed all 5G iPhones would use Qualcomm.

If Apple wanted to increase the non-Pro iPhone prices because all phones will have an OLED screen, perhaps the two iPhone 12 models will be priced at $699 and $799. After looking at the prices again, I felt it would be challenging for Apple to sell two 6.1” iPhones with a $300 price difference.

Having gone from an iPhone 8 to an 11 Pro, the rumoured 5.4” phone doesn’t appeal to me anymore. 5.8” isn’t actually that big, and I say that as someone with very small hands. I can easily use my 11 Pro one-handed.

Aren’t all 2020 iPhones rumored to be OLED? If that’s the case than I expect the 5.4” one to be the lowest priced one most likely coming in at $699 like the iPhone 11?!?

Im under the impression that the only new iPhone in 2020 using LCD is gonna be the iPhone 9(SE).

I feel like they could do $399, $699, $799, $999, and $1,099.

They have to be looking for a big upgrade cycle like the iPhone 6 because there hasn’t been one since 2014 so surely one is coming ... right?!?!?

I expect the iPhone 12 Pro Max 6.7" will priced be like the current iPhone 11 Pro Max. The same way Apple priced the 16" MBPro. It stayed consistent with the previous 15" MBPro.

Yeah, after I wrote that I realized that the two 6.1" iPhones wouldn't have a $300 price difference. I think these prices for the lineup make the most sense. Although, even though Kuo said the SE2 would start at $399, I wouldn't be surprised if it was $449.

iPhone SE2 - $399

iPhone 12 6.1” - $799

iPhone 12 Pro Max 6.7” - $1099

It will be interesting to see how they sell the iPhone 12 6.1” vs the iPhone 12 Pro 6.1” with it’s potential $200 price difference. It will also be interesting to see if they keep selling the iPhone 11, and at what price they will sell it for. If they sell it for $599, like they are the XR today, it will be awkwardly priced below the iPhone 12 5.4” and will be a full $200 cheaper than its newer 6.1” OLED counterpart (if the pricing above is correct). That may make the iPhone 12 6.1” a tough sell.

So keen, still using the X (longest phone I've owned), I don't care how much it costs but hope it's not robbed of features/specs that aren't really affected by physical space constrains. If they only put one main rear camera that's fine with me as long as it's the same spec as the others.

You seem to be way off mark.

The below is way more likely:

5.4 799 (maybe 749?)
6.1 899
6.1 Pro 1099
6.7 Pro 1199

I amended my price expectations. It looks like you quoted the first set, so I’m pasting the second below. It’s interesting that you think the Pro models will both rise $100 in price, and the 6.1” non-pro model will rise by $200. While it’s possible that Apple will increase prices for the Pro models, I don’t agree that the 6.1” iPhone 12 will be $899, a $200 price increase from the iPhone 11. We have no point of reference in knowing how the 5.4” iPhone 12 will be priced, I concede there, but we know how they’ve priced the iPhone 11 today at $699. I don’t think an OLED screen and any other enhancements to 6.1” iPhone 12 may get will warrant a $200 increase. $100 increase, to me, sounds more likely. Of course, this is all conjecture, and we’ll find out in September 2020.

iPhone SE2 - $399
iPhone 12 5.4” - $699
iPhone 12 6.1” - $799
iPhone 12 Pro 6.1” - $999
iPhone 12 Pro Max 6.7” - $1099

2020's lineup is going to be quite vast and hard to predict right now, the latest rumor also says there will be 4 and 5g models. So we can probably expect similar pricing to what some of you have speculated on here, but most definitely expect the 5g models that are issued to be priced into another tier. So that will be another factor besides aspect ratio, and device size going forward.

To your point, if the Pro models will gain enough enhancements to screen technology and mmWave 5G speeds, perhaps they will be priced at $1099 and $1199 with the non-pro 5.4" and 6.1" iPhones trailing behind that. I really don't see Apple selling the 5.4" for $799, though, but it is possible.

The 5.4” iPhone will be between 699 and 799.
The 6.1” iPhone will be an additional 100.
The 6.1” Pro will be an additional 200 at least.
The 6.7” Pro will be an additional 100-150 at least.

I'm having a hard time understanding what the "additional" is relation to. What are the actual prices you are expecting? Not that any of this matters very much, but I am merely interested.
