Going from AT&T and Vodafone

Hey guys, I met a guy from Holland the other night and he plans on buying my iPhone 3G. He has Vodafone and I have AT&T. We tried swapping out sims, but that didn't work and AT&T never really gave me a definite answer on if it was possible. Oh yeah, and he wants to buy it tonight. He's a maritime guy, who's leaving for Egypt tomorrow!
