Going international with iPhone4 GSM

I'm going international with iPhone4 GSM from the US. Can I buy a prepaid sim card in another country and just pop it into my iPhone?

Not unless your phone is unlocked and if you bought you phone in the USA it will only be unlocked if you have jailbroken it and the applied an unlock.

No, your iphone is locked to AT&T and will not accept any other carriers sims.

This only works if your ip4 has baseband 1.59. If it does, install ultrasn0w to unlock it.

Otherwise, your only option is the Gevey turbosim, which may or may not be legal to use depending on where you're going, and may not work with all prepaid sims according to some posts on this forum.
