I just ordered my iPhone XS Max. I have always had cases on my phones. However I can count on one hand the number of times that I have ever dropped my phones. I’m just not prone to dropping them. Since I am getting T-Mobile’s 360 coverage which includes AppleCare plus I figured why not right?

I'm grabbing the peel knock off case on eBay, I paid 5.00 for it. Its gripy enough to not slip but it has little to no protection. Hopefully it gets here soon

I'm still contemplating. On my others I have never used a case but this one is $1249 so I am thinking about ordering a few to try out. We'll see. Either way, it'll be naked for a few days at least.

At the end of the day it’s only a gadget... a tool and after 1-2 weeks you’ll just end up treating your phone like any other old device you own by not caring with such minimal things such as dust or fingerprints. I mostly don’t use cases and when I do I choose a clear case only for a better grip because what’s the point of purchasing an expensive glass and stainless steel phone if you are going to cover it’s design with a plastic material?

Agreed sort of. I've had my 7+ and I'm still pretty bad about prints and dust, etc. lol I'll get a clear one(s) for sure at least.

Not sure if I put cases on my phones if they'd fit in my pockets still. Just dedicate a pocket that you don't put anything else in, or at least not stuff like metal keys, coins, etc.

On the dropping....I've seen phones drop from tall truck heights onto concrete with nary a scratch, and from bathtub height onto soft linoleum and shatter. Just depends on the angle gods maybe.

Oh yes, I've seen phones in otterboxes break as well. So who knows.

I have been using iPhones for almost 11 years and have never used a case.

I have dropped and cracked my screen twice though.

I think that most cases won't offer much more protection than being naked, and the ones that do, like the otterbox defender, are large and bulky.

A case is just about that ONE time where you drop it. And it does not break. And you can continue to use your phone all day. Maybe it it would have really messed up your day badly if your phone was suddenly useless. And that one time you drop it, it would have broken if you had not had the case. If going thru all the hassle and lost business or what have you is no big deal, then why bother with a case ever?

I have known people who have USED their phones with a cracked screen for months. Me, I would never do that. It would get repaired ASAP no matter what.

Especially the time you drop it so badly that the case breaks. I won't get anything but apple cases anymore since when I dropped my iphone 6 the cool looking but ultimately fairly useless plastic case smashed and took a chunk out of the edge of the screen (though this wasn't visible while in a case, Apple did warn me that I might have to pay for a new screen when I had my battery replaced a couple months back. luckily it held up)... did the same thing to my iphone 7, the silicon case split and was unusable but the phone was AOK. had i not had the case, my phone would have been in serious trouble.
