I am not sure, but I thought the white iMacs only were upgradable to 3GB's of RAM??

yea, they are. i was talking about the 24" AL imac in that case. the 24" white imac is lower spec'd and the same price-but it is 24'' compared to 20'', and matte.

but i made the decision. the 20'' al imac should be here tomorrow!

Congrats

Just had to say good for you for getting the iMac. I just got one myself just after Christmas, and I love it! I just installed some RAM that I ordered from Other World Computing. I ordered from there based on recommendations I saw on this site. What a hassle free process! Great service and ultra fast delivery, even here to Canada! I couldn't recommend them more. :)

24"

Hey everyone,
First time poster - just wanted to say "chelloooo" :)

Anyway, I took the plunge and bought a new 24" iMac 2.4 ghz last week. I went over to crucial.com and picked up the 4GB of RAM for it for a little over $100 bucks - can you guys believe Apple charges over $700 for 4GB?!?!? I couldn't believe it. So, I received it at home a day earlier than Apple said and needless to say - IT IS THE BEST.

The 24" inches of screen real estate is sooooo appreciated by my tired eyes. My computer for 3 years before this was a 17" Powerbook 1.5 ghz G4 - and even though it is still getting use and I love the thing to death, I am so excited to have a new system and a huge screen! Especially since I work on computers all day at work, and then come home and work on my web design classes online. It has been stellar and I am so glad I made the 24" purchase over the 20". I would encourage anyone else to do the same - however, I know that some people just don't need a 24" screen, but I say: If you can, you should! It's gloriously beautiful ;)

24'' would be great, but my macbook is just 13''. so the difference between 13'' and 20'' is good enough for me! i think 13'' to 24'' would be mind blowing.
