Im doing homework and going on facebook and my screen went black for a second before coming back to life. Less than a minute later it did it again but for a few seconds and when the screen came back on the optical drive made that wake-up noise. I don't have any of my hotcorners set to sleep so I don't know why this is happening.

Ha ha wow, a narcoleptic MacBook, sounds entertaining to me but I suppose it must make it a real pain to use.
Make sure you haven't set some bizarrely short timeout in Energy Saver, then go and try a P-RAM refresh (cmd+opt+p+r during boot), if it's still going off to sleep then I'm afraid I'm stumped.
