Other Gold color Max is really hot

I've already received several unsolicited opinions that it looks "pink." It's gorgeous when reflecting something, but otherwise I'd have to agree that it's a little too pink.
Me too, I got the silver instead because I agree with you.
But enjoy folks, it is all good no matter the color.
It doesn't look even close to "pink". More Brown/Gold.
*shrug* It does look very different in different lighting - but literally 4 out of the 5 people I showed mine to this morning said it looked pink (or asked whether it was rose gold). When there's any direct light on it, it's a brilliant gold. Otherwise I'd agree that it's pinkish (just my opinion)...

Under yellow light, and turning it to the side like your picture above, it turns to a pink, but then you turn it where you look more directly on it, it is gold/brown. If I use LED blue/white light, and do it, it doesn't do it.
I returned my space grey for gold. And love it. Looks really nice. No regrets switched no colors.
Here is a video of the color shift. I think it has to do with the glass coating.
Eh, I thought the same thing in the store. Guy next to me said he wanted one, but he really wasn't a huge fan of the pinkish color even if it was getting put in a case. I'll say that it does look fantastic under the right lighting though. Unfortunately, they only had Space Gray and Silvers left at my store.
I returned mine today bc it is too brassy/bronze-y in my opinion. I hated it so I exchanged it for the normal silver. It's terrible...
I am not sure what the fascination with the gold color is, is the same gold that was available last year in the iPhone 8 and 8 plus! (Except for the bezel)...

I’ve been saying this all over this forum but I really wish the gold was a bit more yellow. In many lights it is almost silver.
Am hoping to get a Dbrand black skin for the back, if it was a little more gold the black/gold combination would be stunning.

Got this all the time with my 8+ gold. Countless people believed it was the rose gold colour
I've had silver my last couple go-rounds and am very happy with returning to space gray! But, is always great to hear other people happy with their colors too. Enjoy!!
I do think the Gold is a unique color, but I stuck with Silver for my XS Max. I don't mind the back of the Gold - kinda cool how it shifts in tone so much. But not a big fan of the Gold SS Bands, but that's mainly because I don't own/wear anything Gold.
Also, I think when Apple is referring to the color of the iPhones (at least for the X/XS series), they're referring to the bands and the accents, not necessarily the back.
But cool looking phone - I'd buy that color if I liked Salmon/Gold colors/tones.

It’s gorgeous, I love mine. Even more than the gold iPhone 5S, which I never thought I’d say.
There is a certain angle when both the back and the frame look like a new copper penny. That particular look, IMO, is the best of any iPhone. However, at most angles, the phone looks to me like a blush - rose gold, and it looks paler than true gold. I prefer the silver
Saw it in the store today and, yeah, the band around the edge was a bit too 70’s “Solid Gold” in my opinion. Not sure if it will age well. Maybe a brushed matte gold would’ve been better..
Gold sounds interesting, I'll have to see it in person but I'm pretty sure I'm sticking with black
I figured it would be mixed opinions. That's why I went the safe route and got space grey. My X was silver, and I haven't had a black phone in several years.
