I think he made the gold plate by placing it in an electrolyte solution with gold ions and ran a low to medium voltage through the solution for a few hours.

Someone made a clear iphone 3g. But it wasn't that good. I would bet a 4 looks better.

This reminds me of a clear backpack...why would they do that? lol.

I machine polished the frame then plated it, no tarnish would occur in the process.
