Well ACD's aren't made for gaming. Apple products have a specific aim, such as adding the suffix "Pro" for prosumers. ACD's are for graphic design, not gaming. Just b/c the ms response time isn't that fast doesn't mean the color accuracy as well. If you don't game that much, the ACD should suffice, or wait until MacWorld Expo 09. New displays should be announced. For me, I have a Samsung 24" and its a great display. It's not super fast but not slow either. It's 5ms i think. Look at Sam's Club or Costco. They have great stuff at discount prices. Dell isn;t a bad choice either.
Well said. While possibly not the best for gaming, the color quality is top notch straight outta the box. I use a 23" ACD next to a 21" Dell at work, and until I calibrated the hell out of that dell, it was awful something grey on the ACD would be nearly purple on the Dell. Just nasty. If he is going to be doing web work too, and doesnt want to shell out even more for color calibration hardware (I work at a place that already had it on hand), the ACD is a fantastic monitor.
