Good alternative to Bushhawk shoulder mounts out there?

Hello all. Due to a recent run in with the tripod police I was looking for alternatives.

I have taken a look at Bushhawk should mounts and really like them. But having a issue finding cheaper options. Or even homemade options. Anyone know of a good alternative to them for a Nikon D80? I already have the shutter remote cable But the built in trigger option would be great.

I have a issue with steadiness and looking for options.

Bushhawk looks like good stuff to do this with, and it's not really that expensive. There are lots of YouTube videos from people who have made their own. This one from B&H looks like it might do.
