For both school and travel I realized that it is probably a good idea to get a security cable for my MBP. The ones offered at the Apple store didn't necessarily get the best reviews.

Any suggestions? Key or combo?

After reading the reviews on Apple's site, I wouldn't hesitate to buy any of those products. It appears that all the negative reviews came from those who had their laptop's stolen, which doesn't necessarily relate to the quality of the lock.

(Although I would go with a key lock rather than a combo... It would be much easier for a locksmith to unlock the key lock compared to the combo lock in the event you lost the key or misplaced the combo.)

True. I worried about loosing my keys, but it appears that I can register them with kensington and order a replacement... or, as you said, call a locksmith.

More than anything its a deterent. I know a determined thief can break through even the best security. Thats why I have Undercover™. 😉 😀

I ended up going with the Kensington Key lock.

Still returnable... if anyone says there is a better one out there.
