Found this offer for a 16gb on craigslist. Scam?

"Barely used iPad, purchased but I have no need for it. Comes with Apple Case, original box, and charger. $390 or best offer."

Things to look for if I go through with this purchase?
Thanks :D

Case warping, cracked screen, dust under screen, egregious backlight bleeding, deep blemishes(to signify abuse), dents, pixel quality (will vary depending on how anal you are),etc.

Make sure you take someone with you if you're going to meet this person.

Good luck!

Also any way to check battery health?

Well it's under warranty, so... the important things would be dents or scuffs on the casing (from a drop, for example), and the liquid contact indicators (LCIs). There's one LCI in the dock connector, and one in the headphone jack. They're both difficult to see, and a flashlight is very helpful.

The indicators should be white. If they're pink or red, don't buy! If you can't see them, look harder. They're very difficult to find if you're not used to looking for 'em.

Both of those pictures are of an iPhone, but they're in the same locations on the iPad.

Ask for the original receipt as well, to minimize your chance of buying stolen property. Meet in a public place and definitely take someone with you; criminals are using Craigslist to scope out potential victims a whole lot more these days. It used to be a fun place to shop, now, not so much.
