one of my buddys has got 2 powermac g3's he is trying to sell..

he said they have the following specs,,

333mhz
256mb ram
6gig hdd
zip 100
ati rage
no keyboard or mouse though.

he told me they were in brandnew condition and that they were purchased from govdeals.com..??

are they worth $100 for both pc's should i buy them?

what can one do with a 333mhz g3??..if anything..lol

With XPostFacto, it can run Panther or Tiger. My nephew has OS-X Panther running nicely on a 300MHz Wallstreet Powerbook. It'll be limited use for Flash and might not do well on high compression video (like MPEG4 / H264). You could use it as a file server too. It'll need a bigger hard drive for in any case, but for $50 each, doesn't sound bad to me.

ugh he told me they were beige colored..i thought they were blue and white..

i think i will pass on it.

thanks anyway.

I brought a powermac G3 last year for £50. Used it for a few things - fileserving etc. It's a B+W (Blue and White) one, and looks pretty when I'm not using it.

A beige one? Ugh no thanks. Too lacking in just about everything needed. I use the USB and Firewire on my B+W just about all the time.
