hi there,

i'm looking at adding another G5 to my business (transferring/editing videos).

found this...sounds a bit too high for me (Canadian pricing):

what do you think?

Apple PowerMac G5, dual-core 2.0GHz.
2.5 GB RAM, 160 GB 7200rpm HD.
16x Superdrive (dual-layer DVD+-R/CD-RW).
NVidia GeForce 6600LE video 128 MB (2 x DVI).
Dual gigabit Ethernet.
Apple Keyboard and Mighty Mouse (scroll ball).
Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger full DVD set.

Excellent (like-new) condition, all original packaging.
One month remaining in warranty, still eligible for extended (+2 years) AppleCare.
Asking $2500.

------------
Cheers,
Keebler

That seems reasonable enough, but i'd try get it down to $2400 if you can. dont forget a MacPro starts at CA$2700.

Not in Canadian dollar's or are you talking about refurbished

i was thinking of offering sub2000...something like 1900 b/c you're right, i can buy a macpro for not much more. if only bitvice (mpeg2 compression software) was intel ready....doh

I think you should just go for the mac pro pretty soon almost all apps will be written for intel mac's its the future for mac.
Besides its not a whole lot more unless you cant spend that much.
