I'm thinking about purchasing a 44mm Apple Watch Series 4 Sports model (Non-Cellular Model) and the price for that is $429.

Do they usually have deals going on for S4? Not sure if I should wait for Series 5. Which I heard will be coming out by the end of this year.

I noticed earlier that Apple now has refurbed Series 4 watches available for order.

I didn't want to wait for it to arrive so I went ahead and paid an extra $20 at Best Buy to purchase an open box 44mm Series 4 GPS for $390 today. I got the Sport Loop version; the previous owner hadn't even removed the band from the box so it was essentially brand new.

Reason I went for an open box aluminum model is that while I still enjoy my 42mm SBSS Series 3, I wanted the extra features Series 4 provides and I do intend on getting the Series 5 when/if it debuts.

Also, while I do prefer the heft and feel of stainless steel models, there's something to be said about saving nearly $400 on a device that does 99% of the stainless models. That in itself is a good feeling.

The only places you’ll find ‘good deals’ on the Apple Watch, would be through third-party retailers. And they’re not really discounted that often, but at this junction, you might as well wait till September to see what launches, unless you feel you really want the Series 4 now.

Your best bet is to go for a second hand in good condition and save yourself around 25-35% or keep waiting for a deal.i was lucky to get a brand new SBSS44 for £509 instead of £699 with 2 year warranty.

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I'll hold off for the Series 5 at this point then.
